2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the Steve Vai Universe 7-string guitar and Steve Vai's signature JEM and UV series guitars will achieve sales of 77,777 units since its release in 1987 so Steve Vai and Ibanez are teaming up for a unique JEM design contest
Ibanez will create two custom guitars with the winning design at the Ibanez Custom Shop. One guitar will go to the winner, and the other guitar will go to Steve Vai.
